Information has been leaked that gives us some key insight into what Apple have in store for us over the next while.
For one thing, the iPhone 11 (or whatever the device will eventually be called) is apparently going to respond to touch like no smartphone ever before, by doubling down on 3D touch technology.
According to Forbes, the new iPhone will deliver far richer physical feedback (more on that in a bit), but here’s the real game-changer – Apple’s 2019 iPhone display will work underwater.
That means everything from better performance in the rain (no more shielding the phone out of fear) to underwater photography. Think of all the likes.
OK, here’s more on the physical feedback:
In the biggest advancement of Apple’s ‘taptic’ engine to date, EAP explains it will be expanded to cover a 3×3 grid across the new iPhone’s entire display as well as adding more precise vibrations so input response is more tactile on every part of the screen.
This will enable the new iPhone to deliver far richer physical feedback to taps and gestures and it seems ripe for integration with third-party apps, particularly games.
Also on the cards for the future of Apple is the folding iPhone. Here’s Forbes again with the details:
Following a flurry of folding iPhone patents, Apple is back again showing how its acclaimed attention to detail gives the company the platform to make the most impressive folding smartphone entry so far.
Picked up by fan site AppleInsider, a newly public Apple patent has revealed the company is working on a folding display which automatically warms at the fold point. Why? Apple explains that folding displays can be damaged when used in cold temperatures, so options such as a heating element or even lighting the pixels on the fold would mitigate the problem.
The folding iPhone will probably only hit the market next year, and that’s a mock-up of what it might look like above.
The good news is that you don’t have to wait forever to get your hands on a great iPhone, because the latest iPhone models already pack quite a punch.
Digicape, South Africa’s largest independent Apple retailer, stock the full range of goodies, including the very popular iPhone X:
The iPhone X 64GB has a 5,8‑inch Super Retina screen, a TrueDepth Camera with facial recognition technology, a durable glass screen and sleek design. This phone is so smart, it can respond to a tap, your voice, or even a glance.
Seth basically wept when he finally got his hands on one, so you know it’s a keeper.
