Our throwbacks usually take place on a Thursday, but I’m not sure this video can wait that long.
Egoli: Plek van Goud is one of those quintessentially South African shows, having first aired on April 6, 1992. The show wrapped up in March 2010, leaving tannies around the country heartbroken, but in time they probably switched to 7de Laan and carried on with their lives.
I can’t claim to have watched much of Egoli, but luckily GoodThingsGuy spotted a classic clip that’s been doing the rounds:
The hilarious video…shows “Ester Nenna Willemse” played by Shaleen Surtie-Richards and “Elsa Du Plessis Pienaar” played by Hannah Botha in a ridiculously funny scene where they eat cannabis cookies by accident.
If I had to sum it up in two words, I would say ‘kak gebak‘:
Who amongst us hasn’t overshot the mark with edibles, right?
These aren’t working so I’ll just have one more and BANG, there goes the neighbourhood.
Still, this is my favourite edibles video of all time:
Happy Tuesday.
