Winter in upstate New York is hardcore.
When the weather turns, freezing cold Lake Ontario winds create massive waves that pummel the lake shore and spray beach homes, coating them with inches, and sometimes even feet, of ice.
The following imageS, reports Syracuse, were shared by Berta Smith, 57, on Facebook.
She knew the previous owners of the house and was able to provide a before and after of the ice house. You can see the aftermath above, and here’s what the house looked like before:
