Despite having grown up with a silver spoon wedged between her lips, Ivanka Trump reckons she’s forged her own path.
Yeah, even if Donald Trump wasn’t top dog, she would probably one day have ended up being a senior advisor to the president of the United States of America.
Ivanka is so tone-deaf, in fact, that over the weekend she joked that being Donald Trump’s daughter is the hardest job in the world.
I guess, much like her father and brother Don Jr., humour isn’t her strong point.
John Oliver, who has made a career out of getting laughs, decided that he needed to dish out a little reality check to Ivanka during his latest Last Week Tonight show.
To set the scene, here’s the Daily Beast:
…the HBO host was most riled up by the revelation that President Trump is said to have ordered his former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly to grant Jared Kushner top-secret security clearance—despite the protestations of Kelly and national security officials…
Of course, both President Trump and his daughter—and senior advisor—Ivanka have repeatedly denied on the record that Kushner received any sort of special treatment.
If you want to skip straight to the bit where John goes after the first daughter, head to the six-minute mark:
There’s privilege, and then there’s Ivanka Trump privilege.
John’s main segment dealt with automation, so go ahead and clear 20 minutes to veg out. After all, when the machines take over, you might not have a job at all.
