One of the most stressful parts of long-range driving is the constant overtaking of trucks.
Just when you’ve eked your way ahead of the 16-wheelers, that person in the car with the weak bladder (not pointing any fingers but you know who you are) insists you stop, and you watch with a pained expression as they speed past one by one.
Great, back to square one.
Sometimes, though, it’s the truck drivers themselves who end up stressed out, like this poor chap.
Whilst we don’t know much about the dashcam footage, other than that it was uploaded to News24’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, I think we can all relate to his outburst:
This one does not have a happy ending, however.
Popular Twitter account PigSpotter identifies the driver above as Denver Cloete, adding that he died a week later in a very similar incident:
1 week later, in the exact same incident, same driver, same road, unfortunately ended tragically yesterday. Precisely 1 week after last week’s close-call, a head-on collision claimed his life. Denver Cloete RIP.pic.twitter.com/GqIHjujg1J

A tragic ending, and a reminder of how dangerous our roads can be.
We should also use this opportunity to show you another video that was widely shared last week, and is also rather quintessentially South African.
