Sometimes, rugby produces moments that make you laugh.
Take for example that chap at Stellies that didn’t have a concussion, but rather a lekker babelas.
Then you watch the video of Cheetahs centre Nico Lee blowing his nose in the face of an opponent, and it reminds you that idiots walk among us.
Lee will miss the rest of the PRO14 season, having copped a 13-week ban for his antics, with Connacht flank Colby Fainga’a on the receiving end.
You may need to watch this short clip a few times, but you’ll see Lee clearing his schnoz eventually:

Sies, man.
Here’s Sport24:
Lee was reported for alleged infringement of Law 9.27 – A Player must not do anything that is against the spirit of good sportsmanship.
With regard to the offence, Lee accepted that he had cleared the contents of his nose on to the face of an opposing player, thereby committing an act of foul play…
The panel found: “The player’s actions are an act of foul play. They have no place in the game. This is not a case of over-exuberance, or an act which is within the rules of the game going awry. It follows that by its nature this act is one that is deserving of punishment. It is contrary to the spirit of sport.”
…Lee was handed a top-end ban of 26 weeks, which was reduced by half due to an admission of facts and his good disciplinary record.
The Cheetahs were quick to release a statement condemning the behaviour, adding that Lee had apologised to Fainga’a directly after the match.
They also posted a video apology from Lee:

Hmm, I probably would have mentioned Fainga’a again, even if I had apologised in person.
Either way, a 13-week ban seems like fair punishment.
Now, can we do something about the Stormers, please?
