Last week, Meghan’s sister, Samantha Markle, was ranting and raving to the tabloids.
She claimed that the interview, given by five of Meghan’s friends, was riddled with lies, and one of the supposed lies was that Meghan had reached out to her father.
Thomas Markle (Meghan’s dad) is never one to miss out on an opportunity to make a quick buck and get his name in the tabloids. He has since proven that Meghan did contact him, while simultaneously breaking her trust.
He did this by releasing the heartfelt letter that she wrote to him to the press.
Here’s the first part, taken from the Daily Mail, followed by reproductions of extracts that make it easier to read. You can read the full letter here.
The letter, dated August 2018, calls Tom out on the pain that he’s causing his daughter and her husband Harry.
In an interview after the royal wedding, Tom claimed that he phoned Meghan to tell her that he wouldn’t be there:
She also calls out her half-sister who seems to be cultivating the divide between Meghan and her father:
She also pointed out that he betrayed her trust, which was apparent when the CCTV footage of Tom colluding with the paparazzi came out.
This last part is devastating. Even more so if you consider that Thomas saw the letter as another way to betray his daughter’s trust for some easy cash:
Following the release of the letter, Kensington Palace is considering taking legal action to protect the Duchess from further scandal.
According to The Telegraph, Palace aides are considering whether to take a stand over the very public family disclosures, taking legal advice before the Duchess decides whether she wishes to take formal action.
If she cuts off the whole family (with the exception of her mom, who seems lovely), no one would blame her.
