I’ve never been pregnant, and fingers crossed I never will be, but I’ve seen friends go through it and it’s tough.
Even if you have an easy pregnancy, you’re still growing a human being – that’s got to take its toll.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has been a real trooper during the course of her first pregnancy. She’s adjusted to royal life, upheld her commitments, and soldiered through all of the negative comments and media attention that she, Harry and the other young royals have been subject to of late.
In response to the online bullying and negative press thrown at the Duchess, five of her friends got together to speak out against it in an interview with People Magazine. Here’s CNN:
With the Duchess expecting a baby this spring, the friends worry “about what this is doing to her and the baby.” The former co-star added that “Meg has silently sat back and endured the lies and untruths… It’s wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they’re pregnant.”
They also weighed in on the situation with Meghan’s dad:
“(Thomas Markle) never called; he’s never texted. It’s super painful, because Meg was always so dutiful. I think she will always feel genuinely devastated by what he’s done,” the friend told People in reference to the former television lighting director saying in various interviews that he can’t reach his daughter.
“And at the same time, because she’s a daughter, she has a lot of sympathy for him,” the friend said.

Moving on to The Telegraph for Meghan’s half-sister Samantha’s response to all of this on Twitter.
The Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister (below) has launched a Twitter tirade against “wealthy narcissist” Meghan after a group of her closest confidantes provided a glowing tribute to the royal in the pages of a glossy American magazine.
Reacting to People’s nine-page cover story headlined: “The Truth About Meghan”, Samantha Markle took to social media to rubbish the contents, describing the article as “total bulls****” and “fake news”.
Classy. Let’s take a look at the tirade:
She also posted a picture of the ‘banana incident’, commenting that if Meghan could tell sex workers that they’re brave and loved, then she’s capable of saying the same to her father.
Sure, if he stops talking to the tabloids. Then again, I guess selling every bit of info you have on your life and the life of your daughter to the tabloids is a form of prostitution.
My apologies to sex workers everywhere for that comparison. Unlike Thomas Markle, what you do is actual work.
What a family.
Hang in there, Meghan.
