The mystery of why Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber got married so quickly has been solved.
They had decided to wait until marriage before having sex.
Naturally, this is going to inspire the need to get those wedding bells ringing as soon as possible.
The couple’s celibacy until marriage was one of the things that they revealed in an interview in Vogue, reports NewsAU.
Since marriage, the Biebs has spent his time designing the world’s ugliest clothes and reflecting on his prior bad behaviour.
Bieber, 24, told US Vogue he had been celibate for more than a year when he ran into Baldwin, 22, at a church conference in Miami last June, rekindling their past romance.
The Sorry singer opened up about being a sex addict, saying after being “super promiscuous” for a time, abstaining from sex helped him feel closer to God.
He also says that Hailey is a “karmic reward” for good behaviour on his part.
“My mum always said to treat women with respect. For me that was always in my head while I was doing it [being promiscuous], so I could never enjoy it,” Bieber told Vogue, in a joint interview with Hailey.
“[God] doesn’t ask us not to have sex for him because he wants rules and stuff. He’s like, ‘I’m trying to protect you from hurt and pain.’ I think sex can cause a lot of pain.”
Nah, dude. You’re just doing it wrong.
As for how Hailey feels about everything, it looks like there might still be some issues to work through.
“I prayed to feel peace about the decision [to get married], and that’s where I landed,” she said. “I love him very much. I have loved him for a long time.”
The couple indicated there had been infidelity when they dated the first time around.
“Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and work through,” Hailey explained.
“Fizzled would not be the right word — it was more like a very dramatic excommunication. “There was a period where if I walked into a room, he would walk out.”
They’re taking married life one day at a time.
I give them a year, max.
