We are in an election year, so the talk at many drinking sessions, and around almost every dinner table or water cooler, is gravitating towards who to vote for.
And we all know those talks can get pretty tense.
Democracy doesn’t only happen in the political sphere, though, and there are other ways to vote that are a little more fun and lighthearted.
Cape Town Experiences are inviting you to have your say by voting for your favourite places to eat, drink, chill and be merry in the Mother City.
It’s a great way to honour the spots where you’ve cultivated memories, made friends, and watched the sun go down over our beautiful city.
The voting process is simple – just click on your top choice and fill in your details. No registration, no fuss. Done.
In the ‘Restaurants and Dining‘ section, categories include ‘best seafood restaurant’, ‘best burger bar’, ‘ best party venue’ and a host of others.
That said, this is Cape Town, which means that the most important category is ‘best beach bar and restaurant’.
Obviously.
The bars and restaurants in the running are Grand Africa Cafe, Tobago’s, Shimmy, Blue Peter and Cafe Caprice.
I know which one has my vote – Cafe Caprice, where you can sip a quality drink, smash a tasty meal and watch the sun go down.
Seriously, nothing compares to the sunset views you’ll experience from their balcony. See that shot above?
Then there’s the fact that they’re always mixing things up with events and opportunities to chill and/or party. Did I mention that they have a volleyball tournament coming up?
The food is great, the vibe is always awesome, and the living is good.
Cape Town Experiences will be announcing the ‘Restaurants and Dining’ winners on February 28, so best get your votes in before then.
