No disrespect to the good people of Somerset West, but if I had R33 million to spend on a property, I wouldn’t be shopping around those parts.
I guess the real winner is that you get serious bang for your buck, because whilst R33 million buys you something tidy in the City Bowl and surrounds, it buys you a seven-bedroom villa in Somerset West.
Pam Golding’s listing is a beaut, and comes with this description:
An impressive dream home set in a large park-like garden of 11 300m², with magnificent ocean and mountain views. Generous accommodation with ample space includes the following: 5 en suite bedrooms and a fully equipped separate 2-bedroom guest wing.
The master bedroom has a ‘his’ and ‘hers’ bathroom as well as a dressing room for each. The open plan lounge, dining room, family room, sunroom and amazing kitchen have doors leading to the beautiful landscaped garden, pool with poolroom and tennis court.
There are 2 studies, a cinema room, gymnasium, 3 garages, 2 separate staff accommodations and 2 boreholes with ample water.
It’s really quite something:
A home bar, nogal.
Just remember to stock it appropriately, because your guests are going to expect a certain level of expertise in a house villa like this.
One more time from the lawn, to really get a feel for the size:
How very regal.
Good luck getting a born and bred Capetonian out to visit, though, because we know that travelling outside of the city’s confines is regarded as a journey.
