An evening with friends turned into a thing of nightmares when a Durban family and their guests were attacked this past weekend.
The family, including a mother with her baby on her hip, were saying goodbye to the visitors when three armed men tried to force their way onto the property, with the intent of stealing cellphones.
TimesLIVE reports that the mother and her family were in the driveway of their home in Tyrone Road in Parktown, Durban at 10:40PM when the men pounced on them.
CCTV footage captured the incident:
You hear stories of mothers gaining super strength when their kids are threatened and that must have been the case here. You can see her manually close the gate on the assailants, before one of them manages to break through and appears to shoot at the man who tries to help.
Luckily, no injuries were reported. Between four and six gunshots were fired into the air and the criminals managed to get away with one cellphone.
A case of robbery has been opened at Pinetown police station.
They should add assault and intent to do bodily harm to those charges.
We’re just glad that no one was physically hurt.
