The man who brought you Avatar and Titanic is at it again.
James Cameron’s next big blockbuster is Alita: Battle Angel, a film that has been in development for over a decade.
Digital Trends writes that the story is based on Yukito Kishiro’s popular manga series ‘Battle Angel Alita’, and follows an android who’s found in a scrap heap.
The android is repaired by a kind scientist, who teaches her to use her phenomenal abilities to make the world a better place.
It’s basically a twist on the Pinocchio idea, except with more action and no talking bugs.
Also – and this is important – the effects look incredible:
The film boasts an all-star cast including Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, and Jackie Earle Haley.
You can catch Alita: Battle Angel in cinemas on February 14.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day.
