We all have our off days from time to time, and waking up early this week was a serious feat in itself, but hey, gotta pay those bills.
I’m pretty sure I would hate being a baggage handler at OR Tambo International Airport, so I can sympathise somewhat with this woman, although she has now been suspended for “mishandling luggage” after video footage was shared on social media.
That’s a euphemistic term, because she’s really just chucking it around like she doesn’t have a care in the world, whilst shocked passengers look on.
Off we go:
TimesLIVE reporting below:
Airport spokesperson Samukelo Khambule said after seeing the video they had engaged with BidAir regarding its employee’s behaviour.
BidAir had identified the baggage handler and suspended her with immediate effect.
The woman would also face disciplinary action.
“There are many professional employees who work for various companies in the airport ecosystem.
“It’s therefore disconcerting when an employee falls short of the standards of the service level agreement that we have with companies performing licensed activities within the airport,” Khambule said.
Before you go off on a real rant about the state of this country, and why you’re months away from moving to Perth, just remember this video from back in September of last year:
Careless baggage handlers exist right around the world.
