Just because we’re back at ‘work’, doesn’t mean we can’t get the hell out of town on weekends. Or a whole week of beach, if that what is required – sometimes you need a rest after a holiday.

I have long maintained that Scarborough is a genius place to nip off to for the weekend. It’s close enough to go back and fetch / fix something if there is a drama to deal with in Cape Town, and it’s far enough away to tell people you can’t attend whatever hideous event they’ve invited you to.

The beauty with this is you can book this AFTER someone has invited you to something you don’t want to attend (do you ever?), but BEFORE you reply to them.
