Most Food Lover’s Market stores I’ve been to have been pretty well-run, but now a video doing the rounds on social media has caught the attention of management.
An investigation has been launched into what’s happening over at the Diepkloof, Soweto, branch, with Sipho Ndhlovu’s video showing some pretty alarming footage of a rat gorging itself on a salad at the fresh food counter.
Seriously, look at how few damns this rat gives when an employee appears and tries to shoo it away:
That rodent is not at all bothered. I hope to carry that degree of confidence into 2019 with me.
Over to TimesLIVE:
Food Lovers Market management said in a statement on January 6 2019 that it was aware of the video posted from Diepkloof Square.
“We view the matter in a serious light and have launched an investigation to establish the source of the rodent problem. In the meanwhile, we can say we have a health and safety inspectorate that does regular investigation and the last inspection took place in November,” the statement read.
It further stated that the store was contracted to pest control company Rentokil, which did regular inspections and provided the necessary services regarding rodent and pest control.
However you dress it up, that is not a good look.
May your meals be rodent-free.
