December’s First Thursday is probably the most exciting in Cape Town’s First Thursday calendar. This whole place is already in holiday mode, and then you add a fresh payday to that, plus some ice cold Sols and an exhibition by SA’s pre-eminent surf photographer, Ant Fox, and we’ve got quite a night ahead of us.
Now don’t go and pigeonhole the exhibition as something that will only appeal to surfers, because that is way off the mark. If that was the case then I very much doubt Ant’s work would be on display in the Hampton’s Ralph Lauren store.
Oh, Ralph Lauren, you say? Yeah, you heard me.
By way of example, I had a peep at antfoxphoto.com and found some beauties. Check it out – I’ve got the first one below, taken at Pipeline – in my office at home (framed, 2 x 1 metre).
Ant was quite cagey about what he will be displaying. He says some of it might be familiar, but there are also a few unseen prints that will be available for purchase.
Make no mistake, this is not to be missed. Ant Fox virtually never exhibits his work.
Join us at Café du Cap for an awesome evening with awesome people.
