Paris Hilton is a name we haven’t heard in a while.
Probably because she’s a bit of a one-trick-pony. Being ditzy and rich can only get you so far.
Anyway, she’s back and was spotted visiting San Gregorio, near Mexico City which was badly hit by an earthquake in 2017.
Paris walked amongst the people, distributing bottles of perfume and cushions with her name printed across them, reports The Daily Mail.
The 37-year-old heiress singed gift sets and posed for pictures with some of those whose homes were destroyed in the 7.1 magnitude quake which killed 370 and wounded 6,000 when it struck in September last year.
At one point she even knelt down in order to kiss a pregnant woman’s baby bump, then struck poses and flashed a peace sign as cameras clicked around her.
These pics of her kissing the pregnant woman’s belly are awkward AF:
Right…
She also donated $350 000 to help rebuild the city. That part is fine. I would imagine that the money that went into those ‘Paris’ cushions might have been useful for that as well.
The kids in the above pic look super amped.
Anyway, this isn’t the first time that Paris has visited the site of the earthquake.
It is not the first time that Paris has visited the victims of the earthquake. She arrived in San Gregorio just two months after the quake where she handed out more branded pillows and took photographs with the children.
The Peubla earthquake was one of the deadliest and most destructive to hit Mexico in recent years, destroying an estimated 200,000 homes and leaving 4million children without a permanent school place.
On the one hand, donating money to help rebuild is a good thing.
At the same time, this smacks of a cheap publicity stunt that takes advantage of people’s circumstances to generate good PR.
She should stick to trolling Kim Kardashian on social media.
If this whole thing makes you a little (or a lot) uncomfortable – you aren’t alone.
