We’re inclined to report our readership stats towards the end of each year and, with most of Cape Town declaring the year over, we thought now would a great time to do the honours.
2oceansvibe has never conformed to whatever latest tricks the industry is offering up with regards to publishing and marketing methodologies. Unlike any and all publications (digital, print or otherwise), we think it’s both a waste of advertisers’ money, and confusing to our readers, to have a non-stop stream of constantly changing brands on 2oceansvibe.
After all, nothing builds a brand or trust, like frequency. That is why 2oceansvibe is the only publication in SA to have one brand per category, taking special care selecting who we align with.
We had more than half a million unique readers on 2oceansvibe.com last month (October 14 to November 14). 519 319, to be precise, as you can see below:
Here’s the thing – what does that really matter in the grand scheme of things? Now that we are an official Google News source, that could have easily been the result of one article going viral.
The stat we really like from Google Analytics, is the number of annual unique RETURNING readers. This shows how many individual people regularly visited 2oceansvibe over a one-year period.
Surely that is a more genuine indicator, when it comes to a regular, loyal readership?
Here’s a look at our readership for the past year (Nov 14, 2017 through to Nov 13, 2018):
If you look at the green and blue graph, you’ll see that 38,7% of our readers are RETURNING readers. With total unique readers over the year totalling 3 916 492, that means we have 1 515 682 returning readers.
This is up 50% from last year’s impressive one million figure, so we are pretty stoked about that.
Thanks to our loyal readers (all 1,5 million of you) for your continued support. Thanks also to all our long-term partners – we’ve got nothing but love for you.
