Look, Malusi Gigaba is a crook, and he chose to play ball with the Guptas and damage this country for years to come, but what he does behind closed doors with his wife is his own business.
Then again, that hasn’t always been the case, because last year his infidelities were laid bare for all to see.
This time around, Home Affairs Minister Gigaba has apologised to the nation for the leaked material, with the video “at the centre of a number of blackmail and extortion attempts, dating back to the period immediately following his appointment as finance minister in March last year”.
He made his apology via Twitter on Sunday morning:
During an interview with eNCA, Mkhize confirmed that the video “does not contain footage of the minister and his wife. It’s only the minister, it’s a video he created for transmission to his wife”.
According to numerous reports, the 13-second video shows Gigaba playing with his penis with his hand while saying: “Imagine if this is in your mouth.”
Here’s that interview, where Mkhize outlines how the blackmailers are after a cool R5 million:
Thankfully, I have not seen that video, and I have no interest in seeing another local politician exposing themselves.
A word of advice for those who are sent the video, via EWN:
[Social media lawyer Emma] Sadleir says people who share the sex video could get in trouble with the law if it was illegally obtained…
Sadleir says the video is a violation of the minister’s privacy and could lead to some kind of legal prosecution.
“Every single person who shares that video on is contributing to that harm and committing a separate criminal offence each time. And so I really urge every member of the public not to send it on, not to repost it and not to retweet it.”
In addition, Gigaba says he has hired a private investigator to find those responsible for the hack.
Not that it can be verified in any way, but it’s worth sharing a tweet from Man’s Not Barry Roux, who calls himself “SA Black Twitter CiC”.
That’s commander in chief, in case you’re wondering:
Who knows what to believe, other than the fact that Malusi Gigaba is a proven liar, along with almost every other politician in this country.
