Disney is remaking every film from your childhood as a live-action blockbuster.
I have mixed feelings about this. The Jungle Book killed whatever innocence remained in my soul by boring it to death.
Beauty and the Beast would have been fine if it wasn’t still a cautionary tale about Stockholm syndrome.
Anyway – next on the list is the beloved classic, Aladdin. Here’s Fortress:
The movie will follow the original 1992 storyline closely, but fans can look forward to some differences. Nasim Pedrad is set to play a handmaiden named Dalia, who will serve as an important friend to Princess Jasmine.

The inclusion of another female character who isn’t a tiger is good news, although she’s still performing a domestic role, so thanks for that one. Changing the gender of one of the guards would have been more interesting.
The cast will include the following big names:
Aladdin will be in cinemas in May next year.
Oh, and there’s going to be a remake of The Lion King, too, so brace yourselves for that.
