Bret? Present. Jermaine? Present.
Sadly, for far too many years, that hasn’t been the case, as Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement went off and did their own thing, leaving fans of the iconic Flight of the Conchords to rewatch season one and two periodically, thinking about what might have been.
The duo turned down some big bucks as well, having been offered a third season and a huge payday, but now they’ve reunited. Not for a third season, sadly, but they have wrapped up a special titled Flight of the Conchords: Live at the London Apollo.
Late last month, they stopped past The Late Show for a chat with host Stephen Colbert, and if you missed that, it’s vintage Conchords:
They also performed a new song, Father and Son (not the Cat Stevens version):
Solid effort, but it’s a clip from that new comedy special that really hits the spot. It’s a slight reworking of an older classic, but with a modern twist.
