If you were planning on cracking open a cold one later, it won’t be one of the beers travelling in this truck.
It was a bad day for beer, and a worse day for the truck driver who lost a massive load of beer while trying to turn his vehicle around in Cape Town, last Friday.
South African Breweries has described the incident as an “unfortunate error”, reports News24.
In some parts of the country, this would be considered a hate crime:
SAB director of communications Refilwe Masemola said the debris was cleared shortly after the incident.
She also said “necessary corrective measures” had been put in place to ensure a similar incident did not happen again.
SAB would not disclose how much stock was lost.
At least it wasn’t a shipment of Sol, which would have been a real tragedy.
