Did Victor Matfield Say ‘C*nt’ Live On Air? [Video]

Live TV is fraught with danger, and there are countless examples of people slipping up. Looks like Victor Matfield has just joined them.

On Saturday, as the All Blacks snatched a last-minute win against the Springboks, there would have been foul words shouted at TV screens right around the country.

Over in New Zealand, I imagine there were wild scenes of celebration, similar to those we showed you after our previous victory over the old foes.

Now you can forgive a former Bok for crying out in anguish after a pretty gutwrenching loss, but it looks like Victor Matfield, standing on the pitch before kick-off as part of his role as a SuperSport pundit, had a pretty bad slip of the tongue.

Just listen closely and you’ll hear it:

Seems pretty clear to me. Still not as dramatic as that protester who doubled down on the cuss words during that SABC News broadcast, but a solid effort.

I know Afrikaans is his first language, so maybe Victor was trying to say ‘side’, and the Afrikaans word ‘kant’ slipped out?

Whatever happened, it does make for a chuckle.

A reminder that we are still looking for information on the ‘Lounger Guy, who photobombed the Bok pre-match team photo. Don’t be shy.
