When he eventually hangs up his boots, Clint Eastwood will always be remembered for a number of iconic roles.
After all, he starred in Dirty Harry, Unforgiven, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Million Dollar Baby, and some other gems.
For me, it’s Gran Torino that stands out, though – if you haven’t watched that, do yourself a favour.
In recent times Clint’s politics have been picked apart, which has somewhat sullied his legacy in the eyes of many, but he continues to produce quality work.
The trailer for The Mule, for example, looks like it might be one of those movies that people talk about long after he’s gone. Variety reports:
Eastwood both stars and directs himself in “The Mule,” playing Earl Stone — an 80-year-old who becomes a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. The story is based on the real life of World War II veteran Leo Sharp, who ran drugs for the Sinaloa Cartel and was arrested in 2011 at the age of 87.
The supporting cast includes Eastwood’s “American Sniper” star Bradley Cooper as a DEA agent, Dianne Wiest, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Pena.
Not a bad cast, right?
Enter Clint and his distinctive, gravelly voice:
I think I’ll give this one a watch.
The movie comes out in US cinemas on December 14.
