If you’re lucky (and rich) enough to own a supercar, you’re probably well versed in keeping it safe and in good condition.
After all, a Ferrari isn’t the car you buy to take the kids to school or do the grocery run. It’s the car you buy because you can, and you want everyone to know that.
For anyone who owns, or who has ever dreamed of owning a supercar, the car crash that happened in a small town in England will probably sting a little.
Starspost reports that “a transporter carrying a fleet of supercars has crashed on a country road, sending one flying into a tree”.
The vehicle which was carrying Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Aston Martins believed to be worth £2 million in total, crashed on a village road in Burton on the Wolds, near Loughborough.
The driver suffered minor injuries when the transporter went through a field and crashed into a wall and some trees at just before midnight on Saturday.
A tree is believed to have fallen over and blocked the road.
That’s nearly R40 million in supercars, one of which was reportedly catapulted 15 metres into that aforementioned tree.
Here’s the full image of rescue teams trying to get the cars out of the tree:
Ouch.
One eyewitness described the oddity of coming across such a crash:
“One of the supercars had been flung off and was dangling in the branches of one of the trees that had been brought down.
“It’s an odd thing to come across when you’re driving home on a Saturday night.”
There were eight cars on the transporter. Thankfully, some of the cars managed to emerge largely unscathed, like this Lambo:
I imagine the driver of the transporter is very, very grateful about that.
