For many, the enduring memory of South Africa’s unlikely win over the All Blacks last weekend will be Pieter-Steph du Toit’s tears.
He wasn’t the only bloke cutting onions – some of these reactions from South African rugby fans are priceless.
The pick of the bunch is probably this oom, though, with the added bonus of Pieter-Steph’s tears set to that Titanic music.
Before we turn our attention to the All Blacks looking rather bleak with life, let’s throw a stat your way via SA Rugby:
Meneer Mostert (which must be shouted from the countertop, if possible) cracked 38:
Pieter-Steph racked up 36:
Both incredible efforts, and those tears were well-earned.
Whilst it was jubilation for the Boks, it was dejection for the All Blacks. Their YouTube channel released this footage earlier in the week:
Nice to see Kieran Read being humble in defeat, but it would be nicer if he didn’t clean players out illegally at the ruck each and every week.
That Anton Lienert-Brown snub 10 seconds in is a little awkard:
I’m going to enjoy basking in the glory of this win until the teams meet again on October 6 at Loftus. You can bet the All Blacks are going to be fired up for that one, and we’ll need another mammoth defensive display to keep them at bay.
