Rachel Kolisi has every right to be proud of her husband’s achievements, as do all South Africans. After all, when last did a black man captain South Africa to victory over the All Blacks? Never.
Go on, then – relive the glory.
If you’re going to celebrate Siya, though, just be mindful of the fact that Rachel isn’t going to stand for your bullshit. Back in June, she called out social media users for showing her marriage a lack of respect, and now she has turned her attention towards Instagrammer Zuki Lamani, who calls herself an “influencer”.
Over to the Citizen:
When she posted a pic of herself and Kolisi together, in which they can be seen smiling at each other in a way some might consider a little too familiar, she probably didn’t expect a reply from the rugby player’s wife, Rachel.
First of all, Zuki’s post, which has since been removed from her account:
That seems fair enough, but Rachel wasn’t having it. She dropped this reply into the mix:
That’s the emoji for thirsty, “which in this case means not that she needs a drink of water but that she is unable to conceal her obvious attraction to the rugby star”.
At this point I’m thinking hey, she had a picture with Siya, let her be. Cool, but Zuki’s Instagram story tells a different story.
This tweet captured some screenshots from the story:
Cool, fine.
Nah, not really cool.
Responses have been mixed:
Then, there’s the other side, with the arguments basically along these lines:
Living in the public eye is tough, and it doesn’t come more public than being married to the Springbok captain, but social media really is a cesspool of hate and sadness sometimes.
Seems like thirsty influencers and wannabe Twitter celebs are just jealous that Rachel landed her man.
