Speaking Afrikaans has its perks, like talking about people in front of them.

This can backfire badly, especially in places like London and Perth, so use your powers wisely.

You will be hard-pressed to find an American that speaks Afrikaans as a second language, though, so if you want to have a little fun you’re in luck.

Take Jacky Liang, a South African living in New York. He’s determined to take ‘gham’ to the streets of the Big Apple, and he has done a fine job of it.

His antics first started doing the rounds via this tweet. If the headline didn’t give it away, there are a few swear words in this one:
