In what may be one of the more expensive, and less lauded, rebrandings of 2018, Absa overhauled their image, including their logo.
We featured the largely negative reaction in this story, and if you put your ear against the door of many ad agencies, you’ll still hear people taking the piss out of ‘Africanacity’.
As per usual, Nando’s were waiting in the wings to land a few shots of their own, releasing this video on Sunday.
Absa aren’t the only brands getting dissed, but we’ll let you figure out the rest:

I guess that’s the fundamental difference between using another campaign as inspiration, and flat-out plagiarising, which the agency behind Wimpy’s latest advert would do well to bear in mind.
