The 2018 Champions League final will be remembered for a couple of things.
Gareth Bale’s insane overhead-kick goal, Loris Karius’ nightmare of a match that will haunt him forever, and Mo Salah’s injury at the hands of Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
Ramos was also accused of concussing Karius, but he was having none of that.
Whoever arranged the seating at last night’s Champions League draw is clearly a fan of drama, because they sat Mo Salah directly in front of Sergio Ramos.
After the Spaniard had collected his award for best defender in last year’s tournament, he returned to his seat, and decided to touch Salah on his shoulder.
Yes, THAT shoulder – as in the one that was injured in Kiev, and forced Mo off the field in tears.
Having said in interviews that the Egyptian “could have played on if he got an injection for the second half”, there is little love lost between these two.
Look at Mo’s face here:
Not at all impressed. Almost as awkward as the above exchange was the interview where Salah spoke about his tournament, and Ramos looked on:
I would love to know if Ramos was kicking the back of his chair throughout the evening. I wouldn’t put it past him.
