Julius really will say whatever he wants.
He’s always been fond of taking potshots at white people and Indian people, and late last week he turned his attention towards Jewish people.
Speaking in the wake of Trump’s tweet about South African “land seizures” and farm killings, at a media briefing at EFF headquarters in Braamfontein, Julius ventured into previously uncharted territory.
The Citizen reports:
[He claimed] that a group of right-wing extremists is being trained to kill black people.
“They will kill us for that. There’s a group of white right-wingers who are being trained by Jews in Pretoria to be snipers,” he said.
Whether or not the EFF leader has any solid evidence of this is unclear at this point. The EFF leader spoke out against the use of the term “the white genocide” used by some on the far right.
Instead, Malema says, it is actually a “black genocide” that is taking place in the US and South Africa.
“There is actually black genocide in the US. They are killing black people in the US. Black people are even being killed in South Africa,” he said.
It’s even worse when you hear the words coming out of his mouth:
Watch: Julius Malema accusing Jews (semitic people) of training white right wingers to be snipers. He purposely chooses collectivist and plural language to provoke racial hatred against minorities. Black racism must receive the same outrage and punishment as white racism. pic.twitter.com/RdEPjYxMGk

So Jewish people in Pretoria are training white right-wingers to be snipers? Riiiiiiiight. Given that Julius doesn’t seem all that adept at handling a weapon himself, maybe he could use a little training.
Juju also had some choice words for Donald:
Malema demonstratively declared, “We must put it on record, unequivocally … Donald “the pathological liar” Trump, we are not scared of you and your USA or Western imperialist forces”.
“We are warning you, do not play public opinion games with the land question. It is an emotive issue in which people’s dignity is at stake, our people’s hopes cannot be subjected to a contest on public opinion,” he said.
“We want to send a strong message to the USA authorities, just like we did to the Australian authorities, stay out of South Africa’s domestic affairs,” he continued.
That bit makes some sense, because Donald binge-watching Fox News doesn’t make him qualified to comment on anything that goes on in this country.
The backlash to Malema’s anti-Semitic rant was swift, as a follow-up story from the Citizen makes clear:
The Jewish Board of Deputies has hit back at Julius Malema after the controversial EFF leader claimed Jews were training snipers to kill black people.
“Julius Malema’s comments are in line with what has become typical of his attention-seeking behaviour. His constant singling out minority groups in our country is aimed at creating racial tension. This is a real pity because we are at a time in our history where we need to be conscious of the dangers of inflammatory words. What we need now, more than ever, is for our politicians to show leadership and not divisiveness,” the group said in a statement issued on Facebook.
The South African Jewish Board of Deputies spokesperson, Charisse Zeifert, said that the organisation has chosen not to respond to the matter further as it is just “typical Malema creating mischief,” and doesn’t deserve any more airtime.
She added that “It doesn’t matter if its Jews or Indians or Afrikaners, we can’t have a politician engaging in racial incitement.”
You almost feel like a media blackout of whatever Julius says might be in order, because he seems to get a kick out of the ensuing fallout, but there’s scant chance of that happening.
The clock is ticking until Juju’s next hate speech outburst, and it shouldn’t be too long now.
