When you’re a power couple like Beyonce and Jay-Z, everybody wants a piece. For one fan, a few drinks at their joint concert in Atlanta on Saturday night gave him the courage he needed to get up on stage and try his luck.
Unfortunately for him, he learned the hard way that you don’t mess with Bey and Jay.
26-year-old Anthony Charles Thomas Maxwell caused the uproar in Atlanta, after racing to the stage and approaching Jay.
TMZ reports:
Police came, detained Maxwell and wrote up a citation for disorderly conduct. He was not taken to jail … just released.
Law enforcement sources tell us Maxwell made some sort of contact with Jay-Z, but we don’t know how physical it got. Jay was not injured. As far as we know Maxwell never made contact with Beyonce.
Bey and Jay are in the middle of their “On the Run II Tour.” Bey’s rep says the incident will not impact or delay future shows, but security may be a little tighter in the future.
Those strict training regimes have clearly paid off because Bey’s backup dancers were having none of it – roll tape:
Surely they’ll have some backstage footage soon, of what happened after that?
Hopefully, the same thing won’t be happening when they perform in South Africa at the end of the year.
