Stomach in, chest out – that was the famous phrase uttered by Bheki Cele during his first tenure as police commissioner in 2010.
He was reappointed back in February of this year, despite Thuli Madonsela having found that Cele’s conduct was improper during his first reign at the top.
What does this have to do with a police chase and tackle? Well, you would guess that one of the officers in the video you’re about to watch is in fine physical shape, and the other might have a little work to do.
Go on then – you’re in for a surprise:

Boom – that cop really turned on the afterburners, and you can bet the other chasing cop has been given a hard time about not making the hit.
Reminds me of that ref versus Bryan Habana clip.
Despite going viral over the weekend, the video is actually from a 2014 chase in Kentucky. These details from Huff Post:
The suspect, Erik Atwell, 45, of Louisville, allegedly stole the semi cab from a nearby farm and led law enforcement on a one-hour chase before he tried to escape on foot, according to reports. Police say he tried to hit a Louisville officer and a Jeffersontown patrol car. He was arrested and taken into custody…
“He’s pretty swift on his feet,” Chief Rick Sanders, of the Jeffersontown Police Department, told The Huffington Post about the officer. “He’s just a young aggressive officer that did a good job chasing this guy down.”
He clearly enjoyed making that tackle.
