The Springboks’ Twitter Account Was Hacked [Images]

SA Rugby's official Twitter account admitted yesterday that it had been hacked, although it did take them quite a while to catch on.

Before we go any further, that image above was one of the popular memes from the Bok World Cup loss to Japan back in 2015.

We shall never speak of it again.

If you’ve been noticing some rather odd tweets coming from the official Springboks Twitter account this week, you’re not alone.

I first saw a weird tweet appear on Monday morning, around 7:20AM, and I grabbed a screenshot on the assumption that it would be immediately deleted.

It wasn’t, at first, and there were quite a few comments on the tweet wondering that the hell was happening.

That screenshot, then:

I don’t know what stunt the tiny foal pulled – sorry.

Tuesday morning, just around the same time, this went out into the Twittersphere:

No word on the aftermath of the makeover, because there’s no way I’m clicking on that, but I don’t reckon it can rival what we see happening on MOOIMAAK, met Clare Wiese Wentzel.

The third one I spotted this week came with a healthy dose of creep:

You get your kicks how you see fit, but I’m not getting involved in whatever mother-son dynamics are in play there.

One more for the road:

Finally, on Thursday morning, SA Rugby clocked on to what was happening, and issued this tweet:

Took you long enough but hey, you got there in the end.

A few of the replies to that tweet are worth a look:

In case you have’t seen the starting XV for this weekend’s Rugby Championship clash with Argentina, here’s a legit video:

Malcolm Marx, do your thing.
