If you care, you’ve probably been following Demi Lovato’s latest trip to rehab.
Since her days on Barney and Friends, Demi has had some issues, and she’s being pretty open about them on social media.
The US pop singer recently posted the following on Instagram:
I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.
She goes on to thank God, her family and the folks at Cedars-Sinai who helped her through recovery.
Let’s take a look at the post in full:
She’s also written some music about it, including some godawful songs like ‘Sober’. Here’s BBC:
In a recently released single, Sober, she sings: “Mommy, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore. And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor.”
The song ends with the lines: “I’m sorry that I’m here again, I promise I’ll get help/It wasn’t my intention, I’m sorry to myself.”
Fans say that Demi, and her music, is helping them through their own struggles with addiction.
I’m not a fan, but it is cool that she’s being so open about something that affects so many people.
I’ll give her that.
