It wasn’t long ago that filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan was releasing dud upon dud. No really, the less said about The Last Airbender, the better.
Mind you, I adored The Village, but I’m sure most thriller fans won’t be pleased with that revelation.
Anyhoo, Shyamalan’s luck – and career – turned around after the release of horror movie Split last year. Now the guy is hoping to continue his hot streak with his follow-up offering, Glass.
Fans of the classic Unbreakable and Split will be chuffed to know that this thriller flick will be sharing the same universe, reports The Verge.
Expect a superhero-thriller-horror movie for the ages that could potentially pass off as Marvel and DC Comics’ rebellious love-child. Observe the plotline:
From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb [pictured above] and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.
Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
Intrigued? Now observe the trailer:
Oh yes, the M. Night Shyamalan we all love (or loathe) is back in the saddle.
Glass will be out in American cinemas on January 18, 2019.
