Who better to put the fear of death in you than an undertaker?
I’ll tell you – an undertaker who carries a loaded firearm in his car.
The guys who tried to rob Humbulani Aubrey Bvumbi – nogal the CEO of the Thabelo Funerals and Tombstones funeral home – would beg to differ.
Still, there’s no doubting that they were scared shitless after their encounter with him.
According to Times LIVE, Bvumbi sent hijackers running after they tried to rob him in his own driveway in Jozi’s Bryanston suburb:
The incident‚ captured on CCTV cameras and widely circulated on social media‚ showed Bvumbi arriving home in Bryanston on Tuesday afternoon in his Range Rover.
A dark Alfa followed him in‚ blocking the gate as it disgorged armed attackers who approached the driver’s and passenger doors.
Unfortunately for them, they nearly faced an early funeral once Bvumbi got hold of his gun.
Roll the tape:
Jirre. What the hell are they teaching these undertakers at embalming school?
Here’s another angle of the thwarted hijacking:
Needless to say, I don’t think those hijackers will try their luck with Bvumbi ever again. Not unless they’re looking for early access passes for the Pearly Gates.
Sheer dumb bravery aside, the funeral home CEO is damn well lucky to come out of the situation unscathed. He’s attributing his badass act to the man upstairs:
[Those hijackers] wanted to kill me. I told myself that I have to kill them before they kill me. I’m a man and I had to fight. It was a movie‚ I couldn’t believe it.
I thank God for the strength he gave me. I don’t know how I did it‚ honestly. I was brave‚ I’m telling you.
That you were, Bvumbi.
Now for goodness sake, please don’t go waving that bloody gun in the morgue or at a funeral.
