In a land far far away, there’s a disc jockey so mal that his stage name offends mothers all over the world.
While it is not 2OV’s goal to cover stories about grown men humping their DJ equipment, Salvatore Ganacci’s dance moves makes for some worthy news. His set at the massive Tomorrowland festival this past weekend only lasted sixty minutes, but packed more punch than the EDM-lovers at all the festivals in the world. Combined.
Our first-ever reliance on JUNKEE:
Sweden’s Salvatore Ganacci hit the mainstage on Saturday afternoon for an hour long set that involved some truly, truly, glorious dancing. We’re talking a lot of twerking and dry humping, as well as something that can only be described as ‘Air Rope Climbing’.
I, myself, am more into the deeper end of the electronic music landscape. The type where DJ’s play tunes that speak for themselves.
That said, Salv has got me on the verge of slut-dropping out of the office. You’re gonna want to watch this till the end:
So, what do other dance music fans think? According to one of Mixmag‘s wrtiters, they ain’t happy:
Cries of “this is a disgrace to dance music”, “he’s not even mixing” and “EDM sux” have filled up my echo chamber to boiling point. People seem genuinely affected by Salvatore’s set, I think they feel like they’ve been personally attacked by his dance moves, ethos and behaviour on the main stage of a major festival.
I feel their pain, but EDM is in no way an underground art form and the entire commercial scene is quite a joke. Lighten up, peeps! While it may be ridiculous, he’s doing it without a care in the world in front of 100 000 people. That takes serious balls.
Luckily we know that you, our readers, are well-educated on a good laugh.
Thanks Colin
