Details surrounding singer Demi Lovato’s alleged heroin overdose on Tuesday are slowly but surely emerging.
Per a report by Daily Mail, she had been partying all night at her Hollywood Hills home prior to her overdose that afternoon.
Had it not been for her friends who used Narcan to revive her – only to high-tail out of her place before emergency workers arrived on the scene – Lovato probably wouldn’t have pulled through.
Now that she’s recovering in hospital, sources close to her are telling media outlets that she didn’t overdose from heroin.
However, a nurse at the hospital told police that the singer has been at the methamphetamine prior to her alleged overdose.
Unbelievable? What the police found in Lovato’s home seems to boost this theory:
Officers on the scene reportedly took photographs of drug paraphernalia they found in the house and remnants of what looked to be illegal drugs in the home but do not plan to press any charges since they were responding to a medical call and not a criminal report.
Not to mention Lovato’s awkward performance at the California Mid-State Fair on Sunday, which saw her forgetting the lyrics to her song ‘Sober’, pretty much confirms that she was feeling the buzz.
Check it out:
Ironic, yes, but still friggin’ tragic all the same
If you consider the idea that the song itself might be hinting at her having a relapse, then it’s apparent that Lovato has been in trouble for a while.
This debacle is definitely a low point for the singer, who’s been open about her addiction to drugs that began when she was just 17-years-old.
Right now, it’s unclear how long she’ll stay in the hospital before returning home. It’s also not confirmed if she will enter rehab to treat her addiction.
We’ll keep you posted on her situation.
‘Til then, we’re rooting for you, Demi.
