While many of us would beg to differ, taking your clothes off in a public setting without warning probably isn’t the best idea.
This was reinforced when a classy American was kicked out of Planet Fitness and arrested for doing naked yoga, despite efforts of sticking to the gym’s ‘judgement-free zone’ slogan.
According to the UK’s Independent:
Eric Stagno, a 34-year-old man from Massachusetts reportedly walked around naked in the Plaistow, New Hampshire gym before contorting himself into yoga poses in front of the mirrored wall.
According to police captain Brett Morgan, who spoke to WBZ-TV, Stagno’s nude yoga made other gym members feel “disgusted,” “sick,” and “unsafe” – and went against the gym’s policy, despite how Stagno may have interpreted the slogan.
Good effort mate, but you can’t just assume that everybody likes your body as much you do. And if this is what your money-maker looks like, I’m not sure I want to see the rest:
He was later charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct and has been released on bail.
As expected, social media responses have been mixed, with some even defending Stagno:
“I mean… man does have a point. I go to Planet Fitness and it says right up on the wall in big, bright letters… under which I can only assume he was doing his naked yoga.”
Not exactly an invitation to get bare.
We’re still waiting for a response from Planet Fitness, but it will probably be something like, “Listen, man, you’re welcome to feel safe and comfortable in our facilities. But if it involves staring at your naked self in the mirror while doing the Warrior 2, rather do it at home.”
