I’m one of those people who’ll always see Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men as animals, like Disney made me believe.

However, if it means seeing Taron Egerton getting his Green Arrow on, then I’m down for an all-human cast.

The official trailer for Robin Hood has been released, and instead of a kindly fox and a jolly bear playing Robin Hood and Little John respectively, you’re going to get Egerton and Jamie Foxx.

They play a hardcore pair fighting for justice in the nitty-gritty land of England, as Variety explains:

Egerton’s Robin Hood is a war-hardened crusader, while Foxx portrays a Moorish commander mounting a revolt against the corrupt English crown.

Oh, and the “stealing from the rich, giving to the poor” formula is in effect. It wouldn’t be Robin Hood without this trope.

They’ll be joined by Maid Marian (played by Eve Hewson), Robin Hood’s half-brother Will Scarlett (played by Christian Grey – er, I mean Jamie Dornan), and the nefarious Sheriff of Nottingham (hello there, Ben Mendelsohn).

Will they all be able to break that Disney spell?
