Newsflash – the 2018 Digicape Tand Invitational has landed a date!
The Invitational – which BTW happens to be one of the biggest, baddest and boldest bodyboarding competitions in the world – is going down at Tietiesbaai Rest Camp in Paternoster on Thursday, July 19.
I repeat, Thursday, July 19 – that’s tomorrow.
If you haven’t already, you better hustle your bustles down to Pasternoster to check out 16 of the world’s most talented riders brave the waves.
On top of competing against one other, they’ll also have to compete with the Tand wave, a formidable force of nature found at the Cape Columbine break.
Check out the highlights from last year’s competition, and you’ll get an idea of what they’ll be going up against:
Pitted bro, so pitted.
Ultimately, only one man or woman will stand the chance to win the prestigious title of 2018 Tand Champion, R18 000 in prize money (from the total purse of R30 000), and sweet bragging rights for dominating the Tand.
Attendees at this year’s event can expect plenty of entertainment from the pro contingent of local and international riders, who are sure to put on a show like never before.
Plus, there are beverages on hand to warm you up, and top up the energy, thanks to Flatmountain Coffee Roasters and Red Bull.

If bodyboarding isn’t up your alley, how about supercars? We want to remind you that Digicape has partnered with Lacie to offer you the chance to win one of five supercar experiences.
The competition is now on and runs to July 31.
That’s just under two weeks away, so get cracking on this great opportunity.
