Maybe this took Meghan Markle’s mind off her current daddy issues.
The Duchess of Sussex stepped out with sister-in-law Kate Middleton at the Wimbledon Championship women’s finals on Saturday, July 14.
It’s a rare sight to see these two together without their respective husbands, Prince Harry and Prince William, although they might have been too busy preparing for the World Cup the next day.
The pair arrived at Wimbledon, with both looking chic in their ensembles. Via Metro, Markle kept it casual with a blue-striped shirt and white high-waisted trousers, while Middleton opted for a white, spotted dress:
The audio’s not all that clear, but I’m pretty sure the Duchess of Sussex’s accent still sounds the same.
It is one of only a handful of times that [Markle] has visited Wimbledon whereas [Middleton], who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, is a regular at the tournament.
The pair met some of the Championships’ ball boys and ball girls and junior players … ahead of the women’s final.
It was also a special moment for Markle, who came to see her good pal Serena Williams (a guest at Markle and Prince Harry’s star-studded wedding) playing in the finals against Germany’s Angelique Kerber. They also got to watch the final few sets of the Novak Djokovic – Rafael Nadal semi-final before Williams played.
Not that their presence helped the tennis star much, since Serena ended up losing, but hey, at least the Royals looked like they were having a smashing time hanging out together:
We can only imagine what they were bantering about here. Maybe about Donald Trump walking in front of their grandmother-in-law, or perhaps their respective net worths?
Who knows, but as long as they had fun we’re all good.
Kensington Palace’s official Twitter account took pains to show that:
Wonderfully normal, sisterly stuff.
What other stuff will they start doing together without their hubbies in tow? Shopping, having a coffee, hugging – oh, the anticipation.
