The more we find out about Sacha Baron Cohen’s new secret project, the more people are getting excited … and maybe a little creeped out.
The show, which will feature a new character from the Ali G actor’s repertoire, is set for release on July 15, and clues about what to expect are beginning to crop up.
For starters, Vulture‘s editors spotted some interesting posters that appeared in Brooklyn, New York, over the weekend.
It doesn’t take much for them to figure out that Cohen was behind this:
According to their report:
It appears Cohen’s Showtime series will be called Who Is America?
“You’ve been warned,” the posters tease, while giving us the first glance of Cohen’s character — a guy suspiciously peeking out of American flags with various eyewear.
Well, you can’t say Cohen didn’t warn us. Knowing Trump, he’s bound to unleash a Twitter shitstorm on Cohen like he did with Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert.
But the clues didn’t stop with the posters.
A video teaser has been making the rounds since Sunday, July 8, reports Deadline, and it’s bizarre:
That’s right, Cohen got a former American vice-president to sign his waterboard kit. You know, the kit that’s designed to torture people.
Props to Cohen and his PR team, because they’ve done a decent job of drumming up interest thus far.
