Normally celebs and well-off plebs turn it out for the horse-racing event/biggest fancy dress party in South Africa.
This time around, I’m just gonna go ahead and say that some people took huge Ls for their efforts.
With the theme of this year’s edition of the Vodacom Durban July being “It is Time”, as The Huffington Post SA reports, some stunned us with their glamorous looks at the Greyville Racecourse.
Others … just stumped us.
Huff Post picked five outfits that they say really, really missed the mark. You can be the judge, but here are those five.
Dineo Ranaka is a killer queen with killer looks to match, but this one was dead on arrival.
Stick to radio, Tbo Touch. That way, you can spare us the misery of having to look at your ugly wellies.
Zodwa Wabantu loves a risque ensemble, but apparently, this one missed the mark.
This woman turned up to the Durban July doing the most. No really, there’s a lot going on here.
From the clock thing to the feathers, I don’t think she got the concept of “less is more”.
Well, these two women really ran with that concept, and they ended up having the most talked about outfits of all:
Folks, the man’s facial expression in the background says it all.
I don’t know whose idea it was to dress up as a mom-and-baby duo, or if the gogo was inspired by Kendall Jenner’s double nip slip.
At least all these entries sort of lived up to the theme: It is time … to get a fashion stylist.
