Question of the day: what’s the best way to show your main squeeze that you love them in this day and age?

No, it’s not showering them with flowers. Nee, it’s not giving them chocolates. Jewellery? So passé.

Matching tattoos? Ding-ding! That’s correct. Nothing cements a relationship faster than getting some tattoos, ’cause a couple that inks together, stays together, right?

Not in some of these celeb cases, I’m afraid.

While you get peeps like Ben Affleck, who cover themselves in funky designs to hide the scars of failed relationships, more often than not there are superstar lovebirds who take the plunge on the tattoo front before their romance hits the skids.

If they’re keen to forget about those times togther, those tattoos sure as hell won’t let them.

Let’s take a squizz at some of these celebrity couples and their tattoo choices, with help from The Guardian:

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth:

They’ve broken up and gotten engaged more times than I count, but these are the tattoos they got to commemorate their relationship:

Katy Perry and Russell Brand

When Perry and Brand got married, they both had “Anuugacchati Pravaha” – “Go with the flow” in Sanskrit – tattooed on their biceps.

If there were any regrets from their eventual split, it was probably these tattoos.

May the Carter dynasty be as permanent as their tattoos.

As for the rest of you celebs out there, y’all better think twice before going under the tattoo needle together.
