Long before she married into the British Royal Family, Meghan Markle has been turning heads thanks to her glamorous fashion sense.
Now that the whole world is watching her, it seems that everything about the Duchess of Sussex’s wardrobe is up for scrutiny.
Even her display of human qualities, like the way she chuckles to how she positions her legs are in the spotlight, but let’s get back to the clothing.
This time around, it’s Markle’s choice of footwear that has everyone scratching their heads.
Two weeks back, Markle stepped out in a fabulous Givenchy ensemble at the Royal Ascot, which you can view in its entirety here. However, her black pumps got a lot of attention:
If my eyes don’t deceive me, those pumps sure look a little big, don’t they?
Looking back to when Prince Harry popped the question last year, Markle’s beige stilettos certainly looked like they would fit someone whose feet were a size larger:
I bet royal fanatics are going into a flying panic about this conspiracy theory.
They’re probably asking themselves: are Markle’s feet shrinking? Is it a symbolic sign that’s she’s got big shoes to fill? Or maybe she doesn’t get enough money to buy proper shoes?
Wrong, wrong, and wrong again.
Luckily, Women24 has a reasonable explanation for why she’s walking around in big shoes – to avoid blisters and bunions.
Fashion expert Harriet Davey said:
Celebs often go a size up, or even two, in the shoe department when they’re at an event or on the red carpet and it’s for one reason we can all relate to – to avoid blisters.
There’s nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes (we’ve all been there on a night out) and when celebs like Meghan are wearing heels for a long period of time their feet can often swell up …
The sacrifice for beauty is real, folks.
Don’t stress about Markle and her tootsies, ’cause it’s not like she is wearing big fancy shoes all the damn time.
PEOPLE tells us that the Duchess is a huge fan of Sarah Flint sandals, gladiator-style footwear. She even rocked a pair at the recent Audi Polo Cup, along with a Panama hat and a snazzy gingham dress:
In fact, she’s been wearing them for years, long before she was romanced by Prince Harry:
Meghan has been wearing the Grear sandals for years with everything from an off-the-shoulder mini dress on vacation with friends to a cute black midi skirt to white jeans and button down shirts.
See? This is proof that Markle has been delivering fashionista realness forever.
Keep doing what you’re doing, gal.
