Gene editing is thoroughly intriguing, but not everyone can make a 20-minute segment on the topic as riveting as John Oliver and his team.
Most of what we see on TV is to do with creating super animals that then try and eradicate the human race (fair play to them, really), but in real life much of the work being done centres on pinpointing genetic defects.
There’s much ground to be made before we’re at a point where scientists can rustle up the perfect human, but it’s worth giving this a watch if you’re keen to know what we are, are not, and might one day be capable of achieving.
That bit about not having to worship the scientists for 2 000 years is bloody brilliant.
