Look, it’s not a headline I want to write, either, but how else are you supposed to describe what went down courtside during Nick Kyrgios’ Queen’s Club semi-final against Marin Cilic?
That’s the angle Bleacher Report went with on this one, although they might have just said “jerking off” water bottle.
The 23-year-old Ozzie ended up losing to Cilic, and he also copped a €15 000 (R238 000) fine for what the ATP called “inappropriate behaviour”.
I’m sure the commentary timing is unintentional, but is this really a great place to start your coverage? And is there plenty more where that came from as well?
In response to questioning on whether he was concerned that the BBC had to issue an apology on air about the footage, Kyrgios said he “didn’t care”.
Then again, this is the same guy who tried to throw off opponent Stan Wawrinka by telling him that his girlfriend had cheated on him:
Classy.
I suppose it’s all a little sad when you consider how insanely talented he is when he puts his mind to something:
